Are you serious about quitting?

You are four times more likely to quit successfully if you access your local NHS stop smoking service. The service offers free advice and support for a minimum of five weeks to help you quit, as well as free medication on prescription, such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

A range of stop smoking services are currently offered across the two boroughs, including stop smoking services at local GP surgeries and pharmacies. City and Hackney PCT will be relaunching their services the week commencing 20th October 2008, and a range of activities will be taking place throughout that week.

If you would like advice on giving up smoking or just want to find out a bit more about the service, the stop the smoking team will be holding events at Liverpool Street Station, Hackney Central Library and the Homerton Hospital. In addition, you can pop into your local pharmacy or GP surgery, where promotional events will be running throughout that week all across Hackney and the City.

If you want more information on the relaunch of the stop smoking services please contact City and Hackney Tobacco Control Team on 020 7683 4040 or if you want help to stop smoking call free on 0800 169 1943
