Front counters and reception areas throughout Hackney are coming together to launch a new customer signposting service which will go live from National Customer Service Week - October 6th to 10th.
As part of the Public Service promise, a scheme funded by the borough’s local strategic partnership, Team Hackney, 120 reception staff from the 10 major partners in Hackney have taken part in joint training in how to offer the best signposting service to customers. The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that customers are directed to the organisation which can best help them, either by phone, via the internet, or with the help of printed materials.
A handy Z-fold map showing all the main reception points in the borough, as well as a comprehensive listing of phone numbers and web addresses, will be launched during National Customer Service Week, together with posters and printed memo blocks to be used by receptionists when providing written information.
The 10 partners who have signed up to the scheme are Hackney Council, Hackney Homes, The Learning Trust, Hackney Police, Job Centre Plus, Hackney Council for Voluntary Service (HCVS), Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Hackney Community College, the City and Hackney PCT and Team Hackney.
