“We cannot just sit back and leave it to others to tackle the issue of violent crime,” says Kenrick Hanson, Chair of the Hackney Community Engagement Board (CEB) executive. “Those of us who live or work here in Hackney, can help to make this a safer place for all of us.  The police need us as much as we need them. We must work together to try and prevent these terrible crimes.”

The meetings are organised by the CEB executive, with the support of the Metropolitan Police Authority, and the involvement of key voluntary and statutory organisations in Hackney.

The aim of the Board is to enable people in Hackney to understand, inform, influence, support or challenge policing and community safety policies that affect them.
