Investing in Volunteers – Funding Opportunity

Volunteer involving organisations in Hackney still have time to apply for Hackney Voluntary Action’s (HVA) new grant programme.

HVA is the Volunteer Centre for Hackney.  We are offering support to organisations to help them achieve the prestigious Investing in Volunteers (IiV) Quality Standard.

The Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard is designed to enable organisations to comprehensively review the way they manage and involve volunteers, and publicly demonstrates their commitment to volunteers and volunteering.

Our grant programme can pay for the costs of registering for and achieving the IiV standard and leave you a little bit left over to, for example, organise a party to say thank you to all of your wonderful volunteers.

Alongside our grant programme, HVA is offering support to any Hackney based group who would like some guidance on achieving IiV and improving the way they involve, recruit and support volunteers. Our services include one-to-one consultancies, training days and access to sample good practice materials.

IiV is beneficial to organisations at different levels of development and can help reassure potential volunteers and funders that you run your organisation professionally.

The grant programme is open to voluntary and community organisations based in London Borough of Hackney who have an annual turnover of £250 000 or less.

Closing date for applications is Monday 30 June 2008 at 12.00pm. For full eligibility criteria; more information on the good practice support on offer or to join us at our next ‘Introduction to IiV’ training day, please contact Best Practice Officer at HVA - gp@hackneyvoluntaryaction.org.uk Telephone: 020 7241 4443 Ext: 23

This grant is funded by Team Hackney, the Local Strategic Partnership.
