The Economic Development Partnership (EDP) brings partners together to oversee economic development in Hackney.

The Partnership maintains oversight of the Council’s Economic Development Strategy and its objectives, overseeing enterprise, 16-19 and adult skills and learning, economic development and employment outcomes, keeping a watching brief of policy developments and providing a local partnership perspective and position on regional and sub regional economic developments and initiatives.

Following the review of the Local Strategic Partnership earlier in 2011, the Economic Development Partnership has identified three priority areas for task groups which will report to the EDP :

  • Enterprise- developing an Enterprise Action Plan for the borough which sits below the Economic Development Strategy. The Action plan identifies actions required to make the borough ‘enterprise friendly’
  • Apprenticeships- supporting co-ordination and partnership working in the borough
  • Tackling worklessness- including engaging with the work programme and primes

If you have any queries on the Economic Development Partnership, please contact Sonia Khan, Head of Policy on: 020 8356 2167 or at sonia.khan@hackney.gov.uk.
